In October 2023, Orum introduced Verify, the first-ever product built on the Federal Reserve’s new instant payment rail, FedNow. Traditionally, businesses have used a range of antiquated solutions to verify bank accounts, including slow microdeposits, batched historical data, and the manual entry of end-user login credentials. These processes can take days, leading to millions in lost revenue.
Verify determines within 15 seconds whether a bank account is open, valid, and able to receive money before initiating payments. This capability significantly reduces operational bottlenecks, saving businesses time and resources. Additionally, Verify covers 100% of all U.S.-based consumer and business bank accounts—far more than other solutions currently available.
In February 2024, Orum took another giant leap forward by connecting directly to the Federal Reserve as a service provider, first with FedACH and then FedNow and FedWire services. This direct connection to the Federal Reserve’s payment rails is part of Orum’s new money movement API, Deliver, which orchestrates and optimizes transactions through the Federal Reserve’s payment rails on behalf of banking institutions. Deliver offers bank-rate pricing and expanded processing windows, all without costly bank integrations, reinforcing Orum’s positions as a leader in fintech and B2B payments
